When Systems Agree

I actually compared notes with a colleague from a different site today. We didn’t make a big deal of it; we just sat in the canteen and shared a few timestamps of the anomalies we’d noticed. It turns out their system is seeing the same ‘ghost’ dropouts that mine is. We didn’t speculate about why, and we didn’t use words like ‘conspiracy’ or ‘outbreak.’ We just looked at the data, realized it matched, and then immediately changed the subject to the football. That’s how adults handle things, I suppose. You acknowledge the weirdness, realize you can’t fix it, and go back to talking about something you can actually control.
