Distance Matters

Dave’s mention of things being ‘quiet’ out in Marple got me thinking about how perspective changes based on where you’re standing. Being ‘out of town’ has a way of making normal shifts feel ominous. When you aren’t in the middle of the daily grind, every small change looks like a portent of doom. No offense, Dave, but I think you’re just experiencing the natural quiet of the suburbs. When you’re looking for a mystery, a missing bus or a slow police car suddenly feels like a clue. We need to be careful not to let our imaginations fill in the gaps that are actually just mundane parts of life in Greater Manchester.
