If It Was Real

I’ve got a serious question this time, and I’m not even being a prick about it. If this was anything real—any kind of actual threat or ‘undead’ situation—wouldn’t it be a lot louder by now? Think about it. We’d have sirens 24/7. We’d have emergency alerts on our phones. We’d have the army parked at the Portwood roundabout. Instead, what have we got? We’ve got a few blog posts, a couple of spreadsheets from a CCTV guy, and some hospital gossip. That usually means the problem only exists online. It’s a digital ghost story. When real things happen—floods, riots, even a bad fire—the world makes a noise. This? This is silent. And silence doesn’t mean a cover-up; it usually just means there’s nothing to talk about. I think we’re all just vibrating at a high frequency because the world feels heavy, but let’s look at the facts. The buses are still running (poorly, as usual) and the pubs are still open. If the apocalypse is coming, it’s being very polite about it.
