But ‘incident’ is a word for a spilled cup of coffee or a minor traffic mishap. What happened to my brother wasn’t tidy. It wasn’t an accident. It was a person walking out into the dark and never coming back, while the world watched and did nothing. I hate how they use language to scrub the blood off the story. It wasn’t an incident. It was a tragedy, and I won’t let them file it away under ‘miscellaneous’ just to make themselves feel better.
