For anyone keeping score at home: the edges are still holding. That’s the official update for the day. It’s the bare minimum of information, provided with a shrug. The barriers are where they were yesterday, the police are still at their posts, and the ‘restricted’ signs are still standing. It’s the kind of report that tells you everything and nothing at the same time. We are stable, but it’s the stability of a hostage situation. We are all just waiting for the next move, watching the perimeter to see if it inches a little closer or if a gap finally opens up. For now, we are just a dot on a map that someone has circled in red.
