A council notice arrived through the door today regarding ‘revised service boundaries.’ It was printed on that cheap, thin paper they use for bin collection changes, but the content was vague to the point of being unsettling. No maps, no specific dates, just a lot of ‘reassurance’ about community safety and logistical adjustments. It’s the theme of the month, I think: reassurance without substance. They tell you everything is fine while they move the goalposts in the middle of the night. It feels like the whole town is being repackaged into something more manageable, but nobody will tell us why we need to be managed in the first place.
